May 01, 2009 By: Jessica Category: Momshots Contest 74 Comments →

I am super excited about this post!!! Jessica from Designs by Jessie makes some of the cutest camera strap slip covers around and she is graciously giving away a camera strap slipcover to TWO MomShots readers. That’s right, you read that correctly. TWO people are going to win this giveaway.

Check out her great fabrics at her Etsy store. She has some amazing colors and designs. She also has this really cool feature where she can add a little pocket for an extra memory card or a handy place to stow your lens cap. Pretty sweet!

Another feature she offers is to have one side of the slipcovers made with minky fabric. Those of us with young children will know how awesome this fabric is. Baby blankets are often made out of it and for good reason! The fabric is so soft and stays soft and beautiful wash after wash after wash. It’s is a great idea and will add so much comfort to your strap!

Pretty cool features, right? Oh, yeah! One lucky MomShots reader is going win a slip cover with Minky on one side and another lucky MomShots reader going to win a slip cover with a lens cap pocket! Sweet!!!

In addition to this awesome Giveaway, Jessica is offering a great deal to MomShots readers. If you order from her Etsy store, two camera strap slip covers she will throw in a lens cap pocket upgrade for free. When you place your order, just leave a comment telling her you came from MomShots.

    Decoration for my camera…

    Camera Strap Cover

well that and it makes my neck strap a little more comfortable.  I saw these and decided that I just had to have one.  While I LOVE supporting small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures I couldn’t let a fun little project like this pass through my life.  I am a sucker for easy and quick projects (that and I got the stuff to make two for $3).  So I made one.

I found a few sites that sell new camera straps.  I wrote about it a while back.  I think fun camera straps and lens cozies are just too cute.  I love them.  I want an arsenal of camera straps so that I can change them with my mood.  Wouldn’t that be fun?

Anyway, instead of ripping apart my current camera strap, I made a sleeve.  I like that it is changeable so that when it gets gross, I can just pop it in the wash or just make a new one.  I actually bought fabric to make a second sleeve but stopped at just one.  I’ll save the fabric for later and make it another day.

One of the cool things about this is that you use fusable fleece to pad both sides of the strap so it adds a little bit more comfort around your neck.  If you’re like me, I end up wearing my camera for a looonnnnggg time while you are trying to get the perfect Momshot.

If you end up making one, be sure to post a photo of it on Flickr so we can all share in your coolness!
