WOW! I like them all! Even the bright squinty eyed one is darling...only those two could look great squinty-eyed. Huhm? Wish I could come to the Photo Camp. Where is it going to be held? One day, two days, what?

Jess I LOVE these shots of your sis and hubby! I have a few couples shoots lined up and I'm SOO excited about it because I think you're right-- the interaction between two grownups in love is a totally different thing to capture than we're used to! I just adore the photos, especially the one wall in the foreground and her kissing his cheek in the background. I want to know when you're going to start your own photography business... :) Love you!

Dang it! There was a shady spot and I could have tried that trick with the light reflecting off the snow. I have to file that away in my mental filing cabinet and try again. Thanks for such a great tip!!!

Well, this post may not be about photos of kids, but if those two keep it up they way they are in these shots, it will be soon. ;)

One thing I learned about winter shots is that the snow can serve as one giant reflector, and if you set up your shots just so, it actually works pretty darn well at it. If you can find a place to pose them where they are near where the sun is shining on the snow, but still have them in the shade, the reflected light can give you a beautiful fill. The same idea works for light reflecting off of concrete in the summer. Have them stand just barely in the shade.

Anyway, give yourself some credit because these are great portraits, fill or no fill. :)
