Photography: A Family Affair
I got asked to be a guest poster over at another one of my favorite sites, I Never Grew Up. She does a theme each day and Thursday is the day her site focuses on the arts. I decided to write about how photography, usually a single person spectator sport/art, does not have to be. You can easily get the whole family involved. This builds art appreciation, friendship and great memories.
I hope you will click here to read my article and if you have any other suggestions for building family unity through photography I really hope you will take a second to comment. I am trying to compile a list of fun family activities using this artform so your input would be greatly appreciated either here on MomShots or after the post on I Never Grew Up.

My daughter is 6, and she sees me taking pictures all the time. She knows I love photography and is constantly asking if she can take a few pictures herself. I took some time to show her how to be careful with the camera and the proper buttons to push. After securing the strap around her neck she was off. It is fun to see what she deams worthy of a picture, and she is sharing in my love of photography.
Once when we were at my sister-in-laws house celebrating a birthday, she was taking pictures of the gathering and came back to show me. Among the pictures of people was one priceless shot of the Kitty Litter box!!!
I also have taken some time to edit and print some of her shots. It makes her feel special and lets us connect and grow as mother and daughter.
