Digital Scrapbooking Secret Weapon..
Do you want to learn how to scrapbook your photos using your computer? You can do pretty much everything digitally that you can with paper and even more. I love to use the techniques I have learned to make baby book pages for my kids, birthday invitations, calendars, thank you cards, etc. I have used them to make our color book and ABC book too. There are so many cool things you can do once you learn the basics.
We at Momshots have a secret weapon: Our one and only, Tip of the Week editor, Tye Durbin!!! She can teach us how to do all those cool things. She wants to teach us how to do all these cool things! Yeah, basically she’s awesome.
The situation here is that she needs your suggestions. What do you want to learn? She is taking all the suggestions, questions and comments and putting them into tutorial form and making a disc out of them. So if you are curious as to how to make something special let her know. You can let her know by either posting a comment at the end of this post, using the Contact page or emailing me; momshots at yahoo dot com.
Admittedly I have much to learn in this area but I do think it is very important to document my children’s lives. Here is an example of one of the pages I have made. I am a little embarrassed to share this with you but I will throw caution to the wind and do it anyway. We’re all friends here, right?
Come on! You know you want to know how to make little brads or gel dots. Just ask! She’ll tell you how and you’ll get a disc not only with your questions but everyone else’s too!

Cool! I want to learn how to make those neat patterned papers I see. I would also really like to learn how to make velum overlays.
Oh, another thing I want to learn is how to make letters that have images, like flames or bubbles in them. Can you help me with that?
Thanks!
Suzanne

I second the request for patterned papers.
I’ve got bunches of cute brushes that I don’t know how to transfer into nice textured looking papers.
I’d also love to learn how to make my own alpha sets, PS Elements presets can only take you so far!
Oooh! Maybe realistic shadows too? Mine never quite look right.
I’m “done”… I’ll let other people make suggestions now.

I need major help with digital scrapbooking. I have Photoshop elements and have no idea how to use it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Great suggestions! Keep them coming!!
Trena’s comment is one that I am hearing over and over lately which has me thinking that I should concider starting a new section of my blog geared directly toward the “BASICS” of Photoshop (and Photoshop Elements). I have been getting a lot of requests on something that tells you how to get started because there isn’t anything out there that starts from the beginning, like when the start screen pops up, which selection should I choose sort of things.
I am also thinking that video tutorials might work best for this, which might take a bit longer to get up and running, but might serve learning a lot better. What do you all think? How many of you would actually visit/read through/watch the posts on my blog if I were to do this?
ThanX again for all of the suggestions, they will definately help in making a great learning tool!
